Electrician in Novi Beograd
Block housing from the sixties to the eighties, three-phase cookers and tired risers — faults in Novi Beograd follow a pattern.
Response time: 45–90 minutes
Novi Beograd has the most uniform housing stock in the city, and it shows in the installations. The buildings mostly went up between the sixties and the eighties to standard designs, so the same fault repeats across a whole block.
What we find
Boards with no RCD. Most flats from that period were designed with ceramic fuses and no residual current device. Where the board has since been changed, the enclosure was often replaced while the same distribution logic was kept.
A three-phase cooker on a circuit that is no longer only its own. Kitchen wiring was designed for a cooker and not much else. With an induction hob, a microwave, a dishwasher and a coffee machine on the same circuit, tripping is not a fault — it is a consequence.
Aluminium in the distribution. Part of the stock is wired in aluminium. That is not a problem in itself until it meets copper without a proper connector — which is exactly what happens at every later intervention.
Tired risers. In some buildings the shared run from the meters to the flats is older than anything inside the flat. When measurement shows a voltage drop that does not originate in the flat, the report goes to the building manager.
What we do most
Reworking the board — splitting circuits and adding RCD protection — is by a distance the most common job. After that come new circuits for air conditioning and induction hobs, and diagnosing intermittent tripping.
Block flats also suit smart modules well: the boxes are usually deep enough and the layouts standard, so a solution from one flat transfers easily to the next.
Response time
Blocks, Bežanijska kosa, Fontana, Studentski grad — usually 45 to 90 minutes from the call. Allow longer at peak times across the bridges.
Common questions
Do you work in the blocks?
Yes, and it is the bulk of the work in Novi Beograd. Blocks 21, 22, 23, 30, 45, 61–64 and 70 — the flats vary in age but were built to similar designs, so the same faults repeat.
Who is responsible for the riser in the building?
Everything from your meter into the flat is yours; the shared riser is a matter for the building manager and the distribution company. When measurement shows the problem is in the riser, you get a report with numbers you can hand to the manager.
Can air conditioning go on the existing installation?
It depends on the board and on the cable cross-section. Block flats often have no free way in the board, so the first question is whether adding a circuit makes sense or whether it is time to rework the board.
How quickly do you reach Bežanijska kosa?
Bežanijska kosa, the Blocks and Fontana are in the same band — usually 45 to 90 minutes from the call, longer in rush hour.
