Lighting installation in Belgrade

Pendants, downlights, dimmers and outdoor lighting — hung properly, wired correctly and balanced across circuits.

Lighting is the only part of an installation you look at every day, which is why mistakes in it are the ones that get noticed.

What we do

Pendants and ceiling fittings — with a load check on the ceiling, which is mandatory in plasterboard and frequently a surprise in the old ceilings of Stari grad and Vračar.

Downlights — positions set out before drilling, a check on what sits above the ceiling (you do not drill blind where the installation runs), and transformers left somewhere you can reach.

Dimmers — with a compatibility check against the lamps you will actually use.

Outdoor lighting — terrace, garden, entrance. Moisture protection is what matters here: outdoor circuits are the most common cause of seasonal RCD tripping.

What we check before hanging anything

Whether the switch breaks the line and not the neutral. This turns up routinely in older flats and is the clearest sign the installation needs a wider look — a lampholder that stays live with the light off is a hazard that does not look like one.

Whether the lighting circuit has an earth if the fitting has a metal body.

Whether the circuit is overloaded — with LEDs that is rarely a problem, but old halogen circuits were often sized right at the limit.

When to get in touch

If you are changing the lighting throughout the flat, get in touch before you buy — lamps and dimmers are far easier to match up front than afterwards.

Common questions

Can you hang a light fitting I bought myself?

Yes. Bring it along with the instructions if there are any. For heavier fittings we check what the ceiling will carry — in plasterboard you have to find a stud or fit fixings rated for that weight.

Why do my LED lamps glow faintly after being switched off?

Usually because the switch has an indicator lamp, or because the neutral was broken instead of the line. Both are fixable, and the second one must be fixed — breaking the neutral means the lampholder stays live with the light switched off.

How many downlights does a room need?

It depends on ceiling height and beam angle, not on floor area. For a 20 m² room with a 2.6 m ceiling, usually six to eight — but we set out the positions before drilling so there are no holes in the wrong place.

Do you fit dimmers?

Yes, with a compatibility check. Not every LED lamp is dimmable and not every dimmer suits LEDs. The wrong pairing flickers or buzzes, and that gets settled at selection, not afterwards.
